Ed Youngblood has been involved with Web and interactive media design since late 1994 and began teaching Web design short courses in 1999. In 2001, he joined the Electronic Media and Communications faculty at Texas Tech University. He has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate digital media courses including courses covering Flash, Dreamweaver, Director, Avid, iMovie, Photoshop, QuickTime VR, VR Worx, Garageband, and Blogger. His most recent course, Producing for New Media, focused on producing audio and video podcasts. He also regularly teaches a course in electronic media technology and society, and has taught a graduate course in mass communication historiography. His current creative projects include the Web site for the Lubbock Colon Cancer Prevention Task Force, and an interdisciplinary project designing an interactive health education kiosk for use in area clincs. Dr. Youngblood’s research interests include consumer adoption of digital media, particularly by the have-not side of the digital divide, usability design, health communication, and the communication issues surrounding landmines and unexploded ordnance. |
